Role accountabilities:
As a (Senior) Design Manager, you will lead the design and delivery process for complex data center projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and seamless coordination across disciplines to meet client objectives.
- Manage the overall design process for data center projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, structural, and architectural experts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for design-related matters with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Oversee the development of innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions for critical infrastructure systems, including HVAC, electrical, and fire safety.
- Review and validate designs to ensure compliance with relevant German and international codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to align design solutions with project requirements.
- Promote innovation and stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Provide regular updates and detailed reports to clients and stakeholders on design progress and challenges.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's, Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Architecture, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience (5 years) in designing and delivering construction and engineering projects, with a focus on Data Centers or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of data center systems (electrical, mechanical, fire safety) and German/international standards (VOB, DIN, HOAI).
- Proficiency in CAD software and other planning tools.
- Solid market knowledge, strong understanding of energy-efficient cooling solutions and industry trends.
- Strong technical understanding, analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to coordinate planning and implementation processes while collaborating with various disciplines and external service providers.
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts in an understandable manner and communicate effectively with team members and external partners.
- Fluency in English and German, both written and verbal, is essential.
- Willingness to regularly travel within Germany and abroad as required for project demands.
