Summary

Our client, a prominent international medical technology company, is seeking an experienced Finance & Controlling Manager (m/f/d) to join their leadership team. In this role, you will contribute to financial performance improvements by overseeing financial accounting and controlling, implementing and monitoring standard costs in the production environment, and providing strategic financial planning and analysis support.


Responsibilities

As part of the site leadership team:

  • Drive performance improvements through effective financial management and governance.

Financial Accounting:

  • Independently manage the general ledger.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset accounting.

Controlling and Cost Management:

  • Establish and monitor standard costs for products manufactured at the production site, including:
  • Calculating conversion costs, material development (loss factors, purchase prices), and other operating costs.
  • Providing standard costs and rates in line with production requirements and management guidelines.
  • Supporting ERP system implementation (SAP).
  • Assist in budgeting and financial planning.
  • Perform variance analysis (planned vs. actual) and develop actionable recommendations for management.
  • Conduct financial analyses, including data collection and evaluation of various financial reports.
  • Analyse productivity and performance metrics at the site and provide timely, reliable information to support management decisions.


Operational Responsibility:

  • Maintain and evaluate cost centre accounting.
  • Prepare reports to support corporate management.


Internal and External Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal departments such as Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality.
  • Collaborate with international finance teams and the head office.
  • Serve as the point of contact for local suppliers and external auditors.


Process Optimisation:

  • Optimise internal financial and controlling processes.
  • Develop reporting and control instruments in line with group guidelines.


Requirements:

  • Completed degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in financial management and production cost accounting, ideally in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and their financial implications.
  • Proficiency in controlling, SAP (particularly in cost accounting), and Excel.
  • Experience in ERP system implementation and IT skills, especially in supply chain management (SCM).
  • Proven change management skills and a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong initiative, negotiation skills, and the ability to develop cost leadership strategies.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities with cross-functional and international collaboration experience.
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
