Lead Engineer - Backend

Mission

At Bliro, we are transforming how businesses capture and analyze customer interactions with privacy preservation and AI at heart. We’re assembling a small, elite group of 3-4 Founding Engineers who will be at the core of our technical journey, shaping a product used by leading businesses.

As a Founding Engineer - Backend, your mission is to build complex backend systems. You will architect the codebase and join a small, high-performing team of developers. This role envisions that you will step into a key leadership role, driving engineering excellence and shaping the future of our product.

Objectives

• Build Integrated Backend Ecosystem - Develop the backend ecosystem integrating WebSocket connections, asynchronous task processing (LLM queues), custom Bliro analytics, and MongoDB databases.
• Lead by Doing - Contribute directly to the codebase with a hands-on approach, delivering high-impact projects end-to-end.
• Technical Leadership - Join a small team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of best practices, clean architecture, and scalable codebases.
• Strategic Decision-Making - Make informed decisions on the tech stack and architecture, ensuring rapid product iteration without compromising on quality.
  
  

Core Competencies:

• Expert-level knowledge of Node.js, Express, WebSockets and MongoDB, including schema design and optimization
• Strong background in backend performance optimization, security best practices, and scalability
• Hands-on experience building analytics engines for large-scale data processing and customer insights
  
  

Preferred Competencies:

• Experience implementing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems on top of MongoDB for advanced customer queries
• Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, CodePipeline) for CI/CD automation
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for scalable deployments
• (Best case) You are an engineer by heart and contributed to open-source projects.
