Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Wind Project Development to lead wind energy initiatives in Germany. This role will be pivotal in driving the growth of the wind portfolio, overseeing all aspects of project development from initial feasibility studies to final project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in Germany.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision for wind project development in Germany, aligning with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
Project Management: Oversee the entire project development lifecycle, including site identification, feasibility studies, permitting, financing, and construction.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing project development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, investors, and industry partners.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, regional, and national regulations, including environmental assessments and permitting processes.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities for wind project development and assess competitive landscapes.
Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the finance team to develop project budgets, secure funding, and manage financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with project development and implement strategies to mitigate them.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on wind energy.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale wind projects from inception to completion.
Strong understanding of the German energy market and regulatory framework.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in German and English is required; additional languages are a plus.
