Data Protection Specialist
Location: Stuttgart (hybrid)
Our client is seeking a Data Protection Specialist to join its compliance team. The role focuses on supporting day-to-day operations, managing privacy governance, and driving compliance initiatives across departments, including projects involving AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert guidance on data protection compliance and support internal teams with privacy-related inquiries and operational needs.
Monitor and interpret developments in German and EU data protection laws (e.g. GDPR, BDSG, TDDDG), advising departments on implementation.
Maintain privacy governance documentation, including Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), DPIAs, and data deletion concepts.
Review and negotiate data protection contracts, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
Handle privacy-related incidents, coordinate data subject requests, and liaise with internal/external stakeholders.
Draft internal privacy policies and establish data protection guidelines and governance frameworks.
Deliver privacy training sessions across teams and management.
Collaborate closely with Legal, compliance officers, and data protection leadership.
Requirements:
Degree in Law or Business Law, ideally with specialization in data protection or IT law.
2–5 years of experience in data protection, compliance, or risk management, preferably in an international or corporate setting.
Solid knowledge of German and European data privacy laws and implementation best practices.
Familiarity with IT processes and interest in digitalization and AI-related compliance.
Strong documentation, analytical, and process-mapping skills.
Proactive, risk-aware, and solution-oriented mindset with a pragmatic approach.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
