Ramp Safety Manager

  • Oversee and manage daily ramp operations, ensuring seamless coordination and safety standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with Ramp Safety teams at various stations to ensure consistency in procedures and safety protocols.
  • Enforce strict adherence to company policies, airport safety regulations, and aviation standards.
  • Provide clear guidance and supervision to ramp staff during flight operations.Prepare flight movement reports and conduct driver briefings prior to departures.
  • Monitor and observe all flight operations on the ramp, ensuring the safety and security of all staff involved.Report and document any violations or deviations from procedures.Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss situations and compile detailed reports with recommended corrective actions.
  • Promote and ensure the safe and proper usage of ramp equipment; promptly report any irregularities or malfunctions.
  • Apply fair and consistent disciplinary actions where required, identify operational risks, and implement preventive measures.Ensure timely and accurate completion of delivery notes and transfer to the billing department.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends and patterns for performance improvement.Develop, update, and monitor KPIs and performance reports related to ramp safety.Make informed strategic decisions based on operational data insights.
  • Maintain open and efficient communication with the Operations Management Team.Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders on the ramp, including station personnel and airline crew.
  • Adjust driver schedules and ramp activities in response to changes in service, flight delays, or equipment issues.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with Newrest standards, civil aviation regulations, and airport authority requirements.
  • Support ongoing safety training and conduct on-the-spot coaching for best practices and safe equipment handling.
  • Take initiative in identifying safety issues and implement immediate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Handle any additional duties as needed to support the safe and efficient running of ramp operations.
  • Prior experience in ramp operations or ground handling, with a strong focus on safety (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Sound knowledge of aviation safety regulations, airport procedures, and ramp equipment handling.
  • Proven experience in safety auditing, incident reporting, and root cause analysis.Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage, train, and motivate staff under high-pressure environments.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to support decision-making and drive improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – in English; German language skills are an advantage.Proficiency in MS Office; experience with operational reporting tools is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing operations and availability to work in shifts.
  • Valid airport security clearance or the ability to obtain one (ZÜP certification is a plus).
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Munich or Frankfurt or Berlin
