Technical Product Owner, CUE Gateway

Then you might be our next Technical Product Owner for CUE Gateway.

We’re looking for a Technical Product Owner (PO) to drive the development of CUE Gateway, the key content delivery component of our newsroom technology stack. CUE Gateway ensures that content from our headless CMS reaches customer frontends efficiently, handling requests from websites, apps, and other digital services via GraphQL APIs. It includes a caching layer, event-driven content updates, and a message queue for cache invalidation and content notifications, ensuring real-time availability of newsroom content.

As a Technical PO, you will focus on the “how” - guiding the execution of a high-performance, API-driven infrastructure that enables seamless content delivery. You will work closely with our Product Managers (PMs), who define the business and customer needs, and translate these into clear, actionable development plans.

Together with other Product Managers, architects, backend developers, and cloud engineers, you will ensure that CUE Gateway delivers fast, reliable, and scalable content distribution for media companies worldwide.

You will report to the SVP Product Management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Product Managers (PMs) to translate content delivery needs into scalable, API-driven solutions.
• Act as the bridge between PMs and development teams, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment on implementation.
• Ensure seamless integration with other CUE components, and external customer solutions.
• Support the evolution of our APIs, improving efficiency and scalability for our solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement based on performance metrics and customer feedback.
• Align feature development with the trimestral Product Increment (PI) cycle, working with other POs, our Ops and development teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate (technical) updates to internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner, ideally in the media industry.
• Good understanding of APIs, caching strategies, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience working with backend development teams, architects, and DevOps engineers.
• Familiarity with high-availability content distribution and cache invalidation techniques.
• Experience with agile methodologies like Scrum and SAFe and backlog management tools like Jira.

• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear development tasks.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, balancing technical feasibility with business needs.
