Main tasks
The Electron Microscopy Core Facility at the UKE provides expertise, training and support in ultrastructural visualization technologies. The facility covers a large spectrum of light and electron microscopy techniques with a major focus on sample preparation and characterisation of genetically engineered animals, including immunolocalisation of proteins, ultrastructural analysis, and data processing.
Your Tasks
- Consultation of researchers and support of electron microscopic projects
- Technical supervision of transmission electron microscopes and the planned scanning electron microscope
- Development and application of new methods related to sample preparation, data acquisition, data processing and generation of samples
- Budget and staff responsibility for the core facility
- Education of staff and users
Your Profile
- Relevant scientific university degree, including PhD
- Several years of working experience and detailed knowledge in the field of electron microscopy
- Proven leadership abilities
- Very good communication skills in English
- Coordination and organization skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Immunity status
Please note that employment is contingent upon proof of immunization or immunity against the measles virus, in accordance with applicable legal and medical requirements. Documentation (e.g., vaccination certificate) must be provided before employment begins.
