The Assignment

The department Design Engineering is part of Marel’s Poultry Division, located in Boxmeer, and works in close cooperation with the development department to develop machines, systems and processes for our industry.

Our Design Engineering department is continuously looking for talented students to join us for internships and graduation projects. We offer opportunities for students pursuing degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.

Whether you're interested in mechanical design, automation, or software development, we typically have exciting projects available that align with your skills and ambitions. You’ll get hands-on experience working on innovative solutions for the food processing industry, collaborating with experienced engineers in a dynamic and international environment.

What You’ll Be Doing Please find below some examples of internship and graduation projects within our Design Engineering Department

• Te-engineering an existing design and help us to improve makeability or serviceability, perhaps you have an innovative idea to make a better and cheaper design
• Design (automated) test equipment and perform technical tests, e.g. life time of components, condition based monitoring
• Work on new concepts
• Modelling and simulation of dynamic behavior, optimization of hygienic design

Who Are You?

• You are a 3rd or 4th-year HBO/Master’s student pursuing a technical degree in fields such as: Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics
• You are a Team player, who works well in multi-disciplinary teams.
• You have Strong communication skills.
