Senior Project Engineer

Insight Global is looking for an experienced Project Engineer for projects in the Land Development (Civil) Engineering Department for a civil engineering client in Peterborough.

Land Development projects are a multi-step process, with inputs required from a wide range of supporting disciplines. The success of these projects depends on technical knowledge and experience, pro-active project management, clear communication and solutions-oriented problem solving. Our client provides a full suite of land development services to help their clients get where they are going. Their experts include engineers, project managers, professional planners, biologists, hydrogeologists, contract administrators, surveyors and inspectors who work closely together to understand the big picture and how each piece of a project is interconnected.

Your opportunity as a Senior Project Engineer is to join their site servicing and stormwater management teams where you will play a key role in delivering crucial residential, commercial and institutional projects to the Peterborough community. You will leverage your technical expertise to guide complex land development projects from concept to completion, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of experts to ensure successful outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead/manage the servicing and grading design for land development projects ranging from small scale site plans to multi-phase subdivisions.

• Serve as primary contact for key land development clients.

• Coordinate with internal and external technical disciplines to design and deliver comprehensive land development documents for agency review and approval.

• Manage project resources, budgets and deliverables.

• Prepare and/or coordinate proposals for multidisciplinary land development projects.

• Provide Technical Peer Review services to neighboring municipalities.

• Prepare development agreements and approvals, construction specifications and tender document.

• Providing guidance to project engineers and project designers in maintaining quality of work.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (P.Eng. with PEO).

• Minimum 5 years of Civil/Municipal/Land Development Engineering experience.

• Strong competency in the land development approvals process in Ontario.

• Experience applying municipal design standards in southern Ontario, TAC Geometric Design Guidelines, MECP Environmental Compliance Approvals and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications.

•Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience as Expert Witness for Ontario Land Tribunal Hearings.

•Experience in stormwater management design.
