We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented COBOL Developer to maintain, enhance, and support our legacy mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with COBOL programming in enterprise environments and a solid understanding of batch processing, mainframe tools, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs on mainframe systems.
Analyze existing code to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand system requirements.
Perform data analysis, write technical documentation, and support data migrations or conversions.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Provide production support, including debugging and performance tuning.
Support integration of COBOL programs with other systems and technologies.
Work with job scheduling tools and utilities (e.g., JCL, Control-M).
Maintain and enhance batch and online applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong programming experience in COBOL.
Experience with JCL (Job Control Language) and mainframe utilities.
Working knowledge of VSAM, CICS, DB2, or other legacy databases.
Familiarity with IBM mainframe environments (z/OS).
Understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bilingual with French OR Italian OR Spanish will be a plus.
