Job Posting for Carbon Business Development Manager - Asia at BURN
About The Role
This role will be responsible for monetizing carbon credits from our projects to the global market through both direct and indirect sales. The Carbon Biz Dev Manager will own building relationships with carbon offset buyers, primarily in Asian & Middle Eastern markets, and tailoring our offering to the market to maximize revenue. Our offers will span both Spot & Forward contracts from both VCM and compliance-based (CORSIA, Singapore) projects.
Key Targets
Within the first 6 to 12 months, in both voluntary and compliance carbon markets context, this role will have:
Monetised USD5m in credits
Pipeline value at $20m is good
Responsibilities
Deal origination and closure. Prospect for and close high-value deals to secure investment for carbon projects and sell current and future carbon credit stock.
Sales pipeline. Develop and maintain a robust client pipeline in our key markets, both for voluntary and compliance carbon markets.
Sales process. Design, manage, and monitor sales practices and tools to create repeatable, scalable sales processes that accelerate growth quickly, including scripts and pricing strategies
Targets and reporting. Establish, monitor, and report on goals and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Market insights. Provide market insights to support the Marketing and Communications strategy, aimed at increasing the visibility of BURN credits and attracting buyers.
Skills And Experience
Strong experience with selling and marketing to the Asian & Middle Eastern B2B audience. An existing network of potential customers preferred.
Exposure to Emirati or Saudi markets would be a plus.
Experience with negotiating forward & offtake agreements
Ability to speak Japanese, Chinese or Korean would be a plus
Technical acumen to discuss standards and carbon credit quality
Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple country offices and departments
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
