Resident Engineer (C&S)

Responsibilities

The Supervision Team shall report to the QP-Supervision. To coordinate work with RTOs, QAQC Engineer, and Inspector for daily inspections, reports, testing, meetings. Assist and coordinate with the QP on method statement reviews and other periodic/adhoc reports, including non-conformances and compliance, safety issues, work permits etc. Implementation of the Site Supervision Plan (SSP) and Project Quality Plan (PQP). Other duties as assigned, including administrative work.

The Supervision Team shall supervise all civil, structural and geotechical building works, including structural elements for architectural works under the Civil Contracts for compliance with the Authority’s Requirements for Permanent works and Temporary works including but not limited to:

a) Temporary Works relating to excavation, earth retaining and stabilising structures (ERSS), geotechical works and foundation works

b) Structural Elements of the Permanent Works encompassing construction or retaining walls, drains, RC box culverts, sumps, traffic signages, and all related works

c) Road works including premixing works, reinstatement of roads and its street furniture

d) Temporary traffic decking/construction decking and temporary traffic diversion

e) Formwork and falsework

f) Precast concrete and structural steel elements both on-site and off-site where applicable (see APPENDIX B Regarding QA-QC Engineer)

g) Heavy lifting works

h) Protection works to existing surrounding buildings and structures including rectification and reinstatement works

i) Addition and alteration works

j) Drainage systems, storm drainage, water supply, plumbing and sanitary drainage system and sewerage works

k) Rectification, demolition, reinstatement, and turfing works

l) Where required; structural works relating to building services (E&M) fixtures, architectural fixtures, CD doors and all CD related elements, metal railings, balustrades, claddings etc

m) Safety, health and environmental control measures etc

n) Road and associated commuter facilities, including temporary and permanent road diversions, reinstatement of roads and its street furniture

o) Temporary or permanent canal/drain diversions, utility diversions and protection works/supports to utilities

p) Where required; earthmat, touch voltage protection system,equipotential bonding, irrigation system, waste water treatment plant, compressed air system, waste lube oil removal system, diesel fuel storage and refueling pump system, gas supply system and any other E&M works installed by the civil contractor(s)

q) Reviewing and monitoring of risks register, hazard log, etc

r) Weekly summary reports on instrumentation results and areas of concern

s) Structural assessment of existing structures including retaining walls, culverts etc

t) Where required; works related to PUB water pipe & sewer pipe diversion and installation including inspection of welds, connections, etc

u) Where required; structural elements for architectural works including fixings

Qualifications

• Min 5 years of civil engineering experience of which 2 years of experience LTA projects
• Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by PEB.
• Accredited as a RE with IES
• Able to commence work immediately (or very short notice)
