The Robotics team in New Product Innovation develops feature and format proofs-of-concept using state of the art techniques and integrating all aspects of robotics to create robotic products that are truly different and better.
You’ll be assigned to a live project team putting your university learning into practice from the get-go. Your internship will either have a Software or Perception focus and contribute to intelligence feature concepts. Depending on your area of expertise and the project, your responsibilities may include:
Designing, implementing, testing or extending functional components and tools of our software platform in C and Python
Researching, evaluating and integrating state of the art computer vision methods
Employing Design of Experiments to benchmark method or system performance
Integrating a variety of sensors
Working with physical robot platforms and components
Proactively adopting best engineering practices within the Dyson framework

You’re enthusiastic about technology, creative and tenacious in your approach to problem solving. You’re inquisitive by nature, hungry to learn and ready to get stuck in, which will allow you to contribute to live projects from the start. You’ll further need:
Fundamental knowledge of Python and/or C
Ability to apply your programming skills effectively in real-world projects
Ability to work independently on tasks while knowing when to seek clarification, support, or feedback
Clear communication of technical concepts, both verbally and in documentation
Demonstrable experience applying your skills, through course, personal or society projects, with a focus on perception, robotic system integration or robotics algorithms
A creative approach to problem-solving, combined with strong attention to detail
