Senior Officer/ Assistant Manager - (Banking Market Risk, Up to $8.5k + VB)

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze Market Risk (including market-related credit risk) and Liquidity Risk to ensure the financial soundness of the Branch’s treasury and securities investment operations.
• Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports to relevant stakeholders during Market Risk Management (MRM) Committee meetings.
• Oversee data integrity and control processes to support accurate risk measurement and reporting.
• Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting in compliance with applicable guidelines and standards.

• Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to market and liquidity risk monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with the Front Office to fully understand risk exposures, with a focus on credit, equity, and interest rate products.
• Manage transaction data and market quotes/curves to support accurate risk calculations.
• Prepare daily risk reports and monitor exposures against pre-established risk limits, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of both market and liquidity risk data.
• Analyze risk reports by interpreting trading activities and understanding underlying trading and hedging strategies.
• Conduct P&L analysis, attributing performance to market movements and identifying key risk drivers across different financial instruments.
• Perform back-testing of risk models to ensure their appropriateness and reliability in capturing potential exposures.
• Prepare and submit regulatory risk reports to authorities such as DTCC or MAS, and provide supporting explanations when required.
• Proactively identify and initiate improvements to enhance risk measurement, reporting, and internal monitoring tools.
• Support the implementation of market risk initiatives and projects across the department.
• Handle additional ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Market Risk Management or a related control function.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of investment-related products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VBA and Access.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and functions.
• Proactive, fast learner who can adapt quickly and manage a steep learning curve.
