Strategy Consulting Manager (Japanese Speaking / Project)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly capable and strategic Manager to lead consulting projects and drive business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep industry knowledge across multiple sectors, a proven track record in project delivery, and strong interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration among clients, partners, and internal teams.
As a Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of consulting projects, from client engagement and proposal development to final delivery. You will also play a key role in building client relationships and expanding our business footprint in targeted industries.

Responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Identify and assess potential clients across targeted industries, including energy, real estate, food & agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, private equity, and investment banking.
• Develop strategies and action plans to build networks and initiate client engagements.
• Prepare presentation materials and thought leadership content leveraging the company’s industry expertise and project track record.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with potential clients.
• Collaborate closely with the senior management team in Singapore to align business development strategies.

Project Management & Delivery:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution, addressing challenges and ensuring expectations are met.
• Manage project budgets and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
• Support research and consultation activities as required.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training for consultants and analysts.
• Conduct project reviews with internal teams to assess outcomes and extract key learnings.

People Development:

• Engage with and mentor consulting team members, including consultants and senior consultants.
• Provide coaching on core consulting skills such as logical structuring, effective presentation, and both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Support professional development through continuous feedback and training.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in research and strategy consulting, with direct involvement in project delivery.
• Proficiency in English & Japanese language to liaise with internal and external Japanese speaking clients (preferably JLPT N2 or above)
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships, with a history of repeat project engagements.
• Willingness to travel for business as needed.
• Experience in managing consulting projects and guiding both senior and junior team members is a strong advantage is an added advantage.
• Deep industry knowledge in one or more sectors is a plus is an added advantage.
• Prior experience in business growth strategy projects will be highly beneficial is an added advantage.
