Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
This role will be required to provide the FPSO team with the required support to ensure the FPSO Contractor activities are executed in accordance with the CLIENT PROJECT quality requirements.
Key Accountabilities
o Establishing and implementing the PROJECT FPSO Quality Plan
o Implementation of the CLIENT quality requirements for the PROJECT FPSO
o Implementing the required quality resources for all parts of the PROJECT FPSO
o Assist in the evaluation of Contractor’s management systems.
o Attend major fabrication yard locations to support CLIENT Quality Leads in implementing the FPSO quality plan.
o Interface with the Validation & Verification Coordinator on FPSO IVB activities.
o Provide quality inputs to weekly and monthly reports.
o Analyze Key Performance Indicators against the PROJECT Project Quality Objectives as defined in the PEP.
o Organize, coordinate, and perform Audits and Reviews throughout the execution of the Project as per the PROJECT Audit Schedule.
o Interface with the SSPL Quality Lead as required.
The QA/QC Manager will implement and oversee the project-specific quality management system (QMS), ensure compliance with quality standards, and lead efforts to identify and mitigate quality risks throughout the project lifecycle.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance (QA):
- Develop, implement, and improve the project’s QMS in line with Employer Requirement, industry standards (ISO 9001, IEC, DNV, etc.), and Korea regulatory requirements where necessary.
- Perform suppliers and subcontractors’ qualification and selection processes based on their ability to meet quality standards. Monitor and assess suppliers and contractors’ quality performance throughout the project execution.
- Conduct internal and external audits of the project’s QMS, ensuring compliance with Employer Requirement, established procedures, standards, and regulations. Manage corrective actions to address any audit findings.
- Ensure all project documentation (e.g., Inspection, Test and Audit Plan, Project Quality Plan, drawings, technical specifications, procedures, and reports) are properly prepared, controlled, stored, and accessible to authorized personnel.
- Organize and deliver training for the project team on quality procedures, requirements, and tools to ensure consistent understanding and adherence to quality standards.
- Identify and manage quality risks associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans in cooperation with Interface and Risk Manager
Quality Control (QC):
- Supervise all quality control activities related to offshore substation BOP and materials, including inspections, testing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT or HAT) for the main electrical equipment (MEQ), structures, and other BOP.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that construction and installation activities comply with quality specifications. Monitor offshore installation activities, including Topside construction, equipment commissioning, and so on.
- Track, report, and manage non-conformities (NCs) for materials, processes, and equipment. Ensure that root causes are identified, corrective actions are implemented, and preventive actions are taken to avoid recurrence.
- Ensure that all testing, including electrical, mechanical, and structural tests, are carried out according to Employer Requirement, approved standards, procedures, and protocols.
- Make sure that the offshore substation meets DNV Project Certification based on DNV-ST-0145 (2021 Edition) primarily.
- Supervise the commissioning process to verify that the offshore substation meets all operational and safety requirements.
Project Integration & Coordination:
- Work closely with the project engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure quality management is integrated into all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Interface with external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities, certifying bodies, and Employer to ensure the quality system and results meet project standards and expectations.
- Communicate quality-related issues, risks, and actions to Project Manager, Interface and Risk Manager, and other stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify quality-related risks, including those related to offshore conditions, materials handling, and installation processes. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks and prevent issues from impacting project timelines, costs, or safety.
- Lead the resolution of quality-related issues on-site, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams. Ensure non-conformity reports (NCRs) are documented and appropriate corrective actions are implemented promptly.

REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science or related oil and gas fields /Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or certifications in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma) is a plus.
Experience
- Worked as a QA/QC Manager for at least 2-3 projects and can manage client and a team of 15 pax.
- Solid experince in oil & gas
- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control, with at least 5 years in the offshore energy sector or large infrastructure projects (offshore substations, offshore wind, or oil & gas).
- Proven experience in managing QA processes for offshore substations, electrical installations, marine construction, or other similar offshore projects.
- Experience of offshore substation design and construction, electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, substations), cabling, and the other related BOP.
- Experience with quality standards relevant to offshore energy projects, including IEC standards, DNV rule / Project Certification, ISO 9001, and others.
- Experience in developing and implementing QMS, conducting quality audits, and managing non-conformities in large-scale projects.
Qualifications
- Ability to integrate quality management into the overall project lifecycle.
- Familiarity with project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) is desirable.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to identify issues or discrepancies in project deliverables.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage teams, collaborate across departments, and communicate effectively with senior management, Employer, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to quickly identify the root cause of quality issues and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or other relevant quality certifications is highly valued.
- BOSIET, Offshore Medical, or other relevant offshore certifications is highly valued.
