Lead the Basic Petrochemicals department as a substantial Department head, and cooperate with the global sales teams in Mitsubishi Corporation and the other related companies.
Oversee the entire sales and marketing function of the department, manage the team of sales executives and officers, and drive business growth within the basic petrochemical sector including Bio/Sustainable chemicals.
Set and executing sales strategies, achieving revenue targets, and ensuring the department's alignment with overall company goals as well as Mitsubishi Corporation group goals.
Play a pivotal role in maintaining and expanding our market presence.
Job Description
The incumbent's main duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage the Senior executives and officers of the Basic Petrochemicals Department, ensuring they are equipped with the resources and motivation to meet sales goals and work smoothly with the teams of other related companies.
Provide regular performance feedback to the department members as the co-appraiser.
Lead recruitment, training, and career development for the department to build a skilled team.
Work closely with the other sales and corporate departments to ensure smooth execution of the sales activities of the company and maximize the sales initiatives.
Ensure the department's compliance with the safety standards and company policies in the course of conducting business activities assigned to the individual.
Sales Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement sales strategies in Olefins chain, Aromatics, Hydrogen chain chamicals to achieve departmental and company budget goals.
Forecast sales performance and set short-term and long-term budget goals.
Conduct market research to identify trends, suppliers/customer needs, and new business opportunities. Share with the global sales team in other related companies to set and review a adequate global business goal as Mitsubishi Corporation group.
Client Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, customers, and industry partners, especially in ASEAN region, by providing information or other kind of active supports such as regular strategic meeting or joint customer visits.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with potential suppliers and customers in the petrochemical sector.
Sales Operations & Reporting:
Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and make a monthly reporting to the management.
Set up credit line, review and analyze financial status of customers and manage credit control in accordance with the company's requirements.
Ensure a safe and effective operation of chemical storage and inland logistics in Malaysia the responsible products.
Market Intelligence & Industry Knowledge:
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive activities within the petrochemicals sector. Analyze and share the information/insights to the other departments, management, global sales teams of other related companies, suppliers and customers.
Contribute in cross-functional consultation or decision-making of the global sales teams of other related companies, suppliers and customers.

Requirements
Master's degree in Science and/or Chemical.
Advanced knowledge of international trading operation including Letter of Credit settlement, logistics, and import/export/intermediary trade.
Minimum 10 years of experience in sales and marketing in the chemical industry.
Strong understanding of the chemical industry, including product knowledge, market trends, and customer needs.
Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building.
Ability to analyse complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
Excellent verbal and written communication in both Japanese and English to communicate with diverse suppliers and customers.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Teams.
Basic accounting knowledge.
Willingness to travel internationally, to entertain the suppliers/customers/business partners during the evening and/or weekends, as required.
