L2 Application Production Operations Engineer | Bank | Contract

Job Scope:
In a challenging and multicultural environment, we seek a L2 Application Production Operations Engineer to join the client's Application Production Support team.

The incumbent is responsible of ensuring the run of the applications in their perimeter. They will work on requests, changes and incidents based on clients’ tickets, using the documentation and procedures put in place in the business unit.

They are expected to work on on-call support out of business hours, based on rotations defined within the team, as well as to participate in planned activities during few weekends.

Main Responsibilities:

• Performing all run activities in respect of the company's process, ensuring:

1. Service level agreements and priorities are respected
2. Appropriate reaction, in line with the severity of an incident or escalation
3. Company's processes are duly followed (change, incident, problem management)
4. Troubleshooting is performed, and a full root cause analysis is performed to understand the origin of an issue

• Handling escalation on actions from Production Engineers Level 1 (incident, request, change)

1. Escalate to the Service Manager when needed
2. Collaborate between various teams

• Continuous improvement of service

1. Propose improvement and solution to reduce repetitive tasks

• Managing knowledge within the team

1. Share the knowledge within the teams
2. Liaise with development and support teams to grab more knowledge
3. Control that knowledge database is regularly updated

• Driving the most complex operations and ensure they are well prepared (involvement on disaster recovery plan test, work in progress, etc.)

1. Act as global coordinator for main events
2. Review of major release roadmaps
3. Ensure post-checks are documented, performed, and report is shared

As L2 Application Production Operations Engineer, you will be expected to work in shifted time, with rotation every 2 weeks in general. There are 3 shifts:

• Morning shift: from 7am to 4pm
• Afternoon shift: from 2pm to 11pm (day light saving season: from 3pm to 12am)
• Night shift: from 5pm to 2am (day light saving season: from 6pm to 3am)

Job Qualifications:

• The position requires a minimum of 3 years relevant experience as production support, or at least infrastructure support, or in a development role.
• Preferably with experience in a banking environment.
• Knowledge on Unix with experience in scripting and automation. Have basic knowledge on Windows scripting and Active Directory.
• Knowledge on basic windows administration.
• Knowledge on network fundamentals.
• Experience in Control-M e.g. ability to re-run, force jobs, system out capturing, investigating agent unavailable issues, create job / batch.
• Knowldge in MQ Series, and cross file transfer (CFT).
• Experience in EMC Networker / TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager). Ability to backup / retrieve data, and have knowledge on file restore.
• Basic database knowledge with ability to query, write commands and automate scripts.
• Familiarity with DevOps.
• ITIL best practices knowledge is expected.
• Have proactive mindset.
