Manulife is dedicated to fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and excellence. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Actuarial (Reinsurance) Intern to join our Actuarial team. The Reinsurance Management team resides in the Actuarial Department and is accountable for the overall management of reinsurance arrangements and operations across the organization.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience, allowing the individual to develop a deep and holistic understanding of reinsurance and how it creates value for the business. The role will also support reinsurance operations and collaborate with various stakeholders in the company as well as our affiliated vendors in regional offices to deliver quality reinsurance arrangements and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Reinsurance Reports:

  • Ensure smooth and timely submissions of reinsurance reports.

Support Implementation:

  • Assist in the integration of new reinsurance arrangements into the administration system.

Perform Sampling Checks:

  • Conduct sampling checks on reinsurance transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Individual Accountabilities:

  • Provide assistance to various reinsurance-related projects and reporting processes.
  • Coordinate with related stakeholders to facilitate progress and ensure project completion.

Key Shared Accountabilities:

  • Overseeing the enhancement and development of the reinsurance (RI) administration system. Reviewing and managing in-force reinsurance treaties following best practices. Provide accurate and timely regulatory and management reporting.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program majoring in Finance, Accounting, or Actuarial Science
  • Able to commit 10 weeks from May 2025 to July 2025.
  • Strong prioritization skills and a solution-seeking mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, SQL, and Access.
