Assistant Manager, Container Management (Shipping Liner)

Job Scope:

As an Assistant Manager, Container Flow Management, you will be working closely with different regions and agencies to manage container inventory, empty container flow, and associated costs within a designated geographical region.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies for the efficient and cost-effective distribution of empty containers to meet forecasted demand.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to coordinate empty container positioning, quantity needs, and other operational requirements.
• Monitor and analyse container forecasts while working closely with stakeholders to enhance forecast accuracy.
• Conduct data analysis of container movements and related activities to identify opportunities for improvements.
• Manage container-related costs and other cross-functional global responsibilities.
• Identify potential risks in container flow and develop proactive measures to prevent disruptions, delays, or cost overruns.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelors Degree in Maritime, Business or any related discipline is a plus.
• More than 5 years of experience in the shipping industry with strong background in empty container flow.
• Experience in trade management, capacity management, or pricing is a plus.
• Individuals with great communication and stakeholder management skill is a plus.
• Strong commercial and strategic acumen is advantageous.
