Database Administrator - Oracle DBA (2 Year Contract)

Job Summary

You will be working with our client who are well renowned in the public and financial sector. You will manage, optimize, and secure Oracle database environments, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, compliance with data protection regulations, and collaboration with development teams for efficient database design.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and optimise Oracle database environments
• Implement and manage Oracle RAC environments
• Perform database installations, upgrades, and patches
• Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies
• Monitor database performance and tune for optimal efficiency
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
• Automate common database maintenance tasks
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient database design
• Implement and maintain database security measures
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations
• Conduct regular security audits and implement best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Oracle DBA
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification
• Proven experience implementing and managing Oracle RAC
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl) for automation
• Preferred Skills:
• o Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification
• o Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
• o Familiarity with database compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA)
• o Experience with other database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
