Software Engineer - 12 Months Contract - Up to SGD8k

Morgan McKinley is seeking a skilled Software Engineer who will primarily be responsible for the technical design, bug fixing, L3 support,implementation and testing (unit and end to end) of complex project features and ensuring hitting the project release timeline.

This is for a 12- months contract role with a leading multinational social media company.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and present technical design proposals, effectively communicating complex features and system architectures.
• Collaborate with product, design, support, and cross-functional teams to define and refine project specifications.
• Architect, implement, and test (unit and end-to-end) complex project features, ensuring timely release.
• Design and develop front-end interfaces, APIs, and backend systems using programming languages such as JavaScript, PHP (Hack), and Python.
• Build large-scale consumer products and features.
• Gain expertise in the company's development standards, from coding to deployment, to take on progressively complex tasks and projects.
• • Work closely with Product, Platform, and Operations teams to develop and scale a fully automated operational platform.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
• With 3-5 years of experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for full-stack projects with industry-wide impact.
• Strong experience with databases, full-stack development, UI, and API design.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, ReactJS, Angular, or Vue, and backend technologies like Hack/PHP, Python, or C and GraphQL.
• Strong ability to present design proposals and experience in developing automation tools.
• Proven track record in building high-quality enterprise-grade products.
• Expertise in writing efficient, high-performance SQL queries.
• Experience working with multiple dynamic and compiled programming languages in production environments is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a support organization is beneficial.
• Experience in developing automation platforms is a significant plus.
• Background in building privacy and ads-related products is a strong advantage.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams to drive solutions.
• Experience effectively working with and influencing senior engineers across organizations.
