Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer – Professional Audio serves as a technical resource, supporting the sales team by providing in-depth product knowledge, system design assistance, and customer consultations. This role involves working closely with sales team and their clients to understand their audio needs, demonstrating solutions, and ensuring seamless integration of professional audio systems for live sound, retail, hospitality, corporate AV, and other applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Sales Support & Consultation
• Collaborate with sales teams to understand client requirements and recommend suitable audio solutions.
• Conduct in-depth product demonstrations, both in-person and online, showcasing features and benefits.
• Assist with proof-of-concept trials and technical evaluations for potential customers.
System Design & Integration
• Develop system diagrams and technical proposals, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructures.
• Work with clients, integrators, and internal teams to create custom solutions tailored to specific applications.
• Provide guidance on acoustics, signal flow and system optimization for maximum performance.
Customer Training & Support
• Deliver technical training sessions for customers sales teams and channel partners.
• Support customers during the pre-sales phase by addressing technical concerns and overcoming objections.
• Engage and train system integrators post-sales support and engineering teams to ensure a smooth handoff and implementation.
Industry Engagement & Product Expertise
• Stay updated on the latest professional audio technologies, industry trends, and competitive products.
• Build relationships with key clients, consultants and industry professionals.
• Participate in trade shows, seminars and manufacturer training programs to enhance knowledge and market presence.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of professional audio equipment, including digital/analogue mixers, microphones, loudspeakers, DSPs, audio-over-IP (AoIP) solutions (e.g., Dante, AES67), and related technologies.
• Sales & Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-driven presentations.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and develop innovative audio solutions.
• Collaboration: Experience working with sales, engineering, and customers to deliver tailored solutions.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with system design tools (e.g., EASE, Crestron, Q-SYS Designer, AutoCAD)
• Education & Experience: A degree in audio engineering, music technology, or a related field is preferred. Hands-on experience in live sound, studio recording, or AV system integration is a plus.
