Assistant Test Engineer (12 Months)

Responsibilities:

• Product and System verification and Validation (Main)
  • Perform product validation/verification activities on assigned projects / products (including Signaling Products such as Tower
  Light, Horn Speaker, and other products).
  • Assist in the development of product’s validation test plans/test matrix and prepare the test schedule
  • Ensure the availability of all test resources (equipment & tools, test standards facilities) to achieve product conformance
  • Manage and conduct product validation tests in accordance with the test plan to ensure that the products meet the requirements for the specified application or intended use.
  • Follow up with the requester (designer) on the reported issues and actively participate in project discussions.
  • Ensure timely completion of all assigned product and system verification and validation tasks according to the test schedule
• Continual improvement of Laboratory process (Supportive)
  • Maintain and uphold the Quality Management System (QMS) that complies with the ISO/IEC 17025 and SAC-SINGLAS technical and management requirements
  • Continuously enhance the work processes in the laboratory to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing/processes
  • Optimize the planning and management of the test schedule to maximize the utilization of the test equipment
• To enhance Laboratory testing competency and expertise (Supportive)
  • Strengthen the competency and capability of the laboratory by acquiring more equipment
  • Enhance the knowledge of product international standards on testing methodology, pass/fail criteria, etc.
  • Continuously improve the testing efficiency by developing expertise on competitor products and implementing new ways of
  testing.
• Test Reporting (Main)
  • Generate test reports for performed tests and present test synopsis to project and management teams
  • Write clear and concise reports that address the business/technical needs of requestors
• Equipment Calibration and Maintenance (Supporting)
  • Identify reliable vendors to calibrate and perform preventive maintenance for laboratory equipment
  • Keep track of equipment calibration and preventive maintenance due dates
  • Coordinate and monitor the performance of external vendors for equipment calibration and preventive maintenance

Requirements:
• Degree / Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics Engineering
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in product verification and validation testing of industrial electromechanical and electronics products.
• Good understanding of international standards
• Experience working with Project Management / Product Evolution Processes
• ISO/IEC 17025 knowledge or experience is an added advantage
• Exposure to industrial electromechanical and electronics products testing
• Knowledge of FMEA, FTA, 6 Sigma concepts & problem-solving methodologies will be an added advantage
• Familiar with international test standards e.g. IEC, UL, CSA, Marine, etc
• Experience in electrical testing (handling equipment: oscilloscope, sound meter, luminance meter, multimeter, chamber, dielectric/impulse tester) is a preferred skill.
