Job Summary
The Finance Manager / Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing all financial reporting, budgeting, and tax matters. This role is critical in maintaining financial health, controlling costs, and supporting strategic decision-making within the construction industry.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee financial statements, cash flow, and management reports.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, FRS, and accounting standards.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
Monitor project cash flow and ensure sufficient working capital.
Develop and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Analyze construction project costs and financial performance.
Provide financial insights for tendering and project feasibility studies.
Handle GST submissions, corporate tax filings, and IRAS compliance.
Ensure proper tax planning and liaise with tax advisors and auditors.
Oversee payroll taxes, CPF contributions, and employee tax reporting (IR8A).
Manage supplier payments, subcontractor invoices, and vendor contracts.
Ensure timely collection of progress payments and accounts receivables.
Monitor retention sums and final account settlements for projects.
Work closely with Project Managers & Quantity Surveyors to track project costs.
Implement internal controls to prevent cost overruns and fraud.
Monitor bank guarantees, performance bonds, and project financing.
Liaise with external auditors for statutory audits and financial reviews.
Maintain internal financial controls and compliance frameworks.
Ensure accurate documentation for audits and financial transparency.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
ACCA / CPA / CA (Singapore) certification is mandatory.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in finance & accounting.
Preferably experience in the construction industry or related sectors.
Strong knowledge of construction project accounting.
Proficiency in Xero, SAP, MYOB, QuickBooks, or other accounting software.
Knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), IRAS tax regulations, and MOM payroll laws.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
