Purpose & Scope
The Head, Capital Project Management is responsible in the execution of large-scale capital projects, mainly renewables and gas power plants.
This role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The incumbent should be able to drive continuous improvement to the group project standards. He/She will have extensive experience in capital project management and a proven ability to lead teams effectively.
Key Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for capital projects, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.

Project Portfolio Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring resource optimization and prioritization based on business needs.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management, clients, and other stakeholders to communicate project updates, address concerns, and foster strong relationships.

Budget Management: Establish and monitor project budgets across the portfolio, ensuring financial accountability and cost efficiency.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks related to projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

Performance Monitoring: Track project performance metrics, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Conduct regular reviews of project progress with project managers.

Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports for executive leadership detailing project status, challenges, and successes.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital project management with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing project managers.

Must have a strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.

Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP) are highly desirable.
