DORS, the retail showcase located at level one of Design Orchard and situated in the centre of Orchard Road, provides a physical retail space for new and emerging designers, at the renowned shopping belt of Singapore. It has the largest collection of locally based designer brands in Singapore.


TCS, offers creative co-working and event space housed on level 2 and rooftop of Design Orchard.


About Internationalisation at SFC


The Internationalisation Department at the Singapore Fashion Council (SFC) plays a pivotal role in expanding the global footprint of Singapore's fashion industry. By providing strategic support and resources, the department facilitates international market entry and growth for local fashion brands. Its initiatives include organizing overseas trade missions, establishing international partnerships, and offering education on market trends and regulations. Through these efforts, the department aims to enhance the global competitiveness of Singapore's fashion industry and promote the country's designers on the world stage.

About this Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Manager, Internationalisation to plan, develop, lead and execute internationalisation programmes such as trade and business missions, international brand entry into markets, and training programmes that support Singapore fashion brands in their global expansion journey. This role requires a high level of program development expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder engagement, with a deep understanding of international fashion markets. The role requires a dynamic and adaptable attitude, operational meticulousness, and deftness in liaising with international contacts and agencies. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven professional. In the longer term, this project will enable Singapore to become a vibrant hub for the regional fashion industry.


Key Responsibilities:


Program Development & Implementation

  • Design, plan, and implement strategic internationalisation programmes aligned with SFC’s industry development goals.
  • Manage end-to-end program execution, including budgeting, timeline management, reporting, and outcomes evaluation.
  • Develop capacity-building and market-entry initiatives such as overseas trade missions, export accelerators, and training workshops.


Strategic Planning & Market Development

  • Conduct research and analysis on international fashion markets to identify opportunities, barriers, and evolving trends.
  • Develop and refine go-to-market strategies in collaboration with marketing and branding teams.
  • Support the long-term sustainability and scalability of internationalisation initiatives.


Stakeholder & Partner Engagement

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, international bodies, trade associations, and private enterprises.
  • Negotiate and secure strategic partnerships that enhance the international reach and competitiveness of Singapore fashion brands.


Business Development

  • Building a strong pipeline of businesses ready to internationalise
  • Ensuring that work plans drive growth, including but not limited to profitability and impact


Project & Team Management

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and ensure effective coordination across internal and external teams.
  • Lead a small team or cross-functional task forces to ensure program excellence and measurable impact.


Data-Driven Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Collect and analyse programme data to measure effectiveness and inform future improvements.
  • Apply problem-solving methodologies to address programme challenges and pivot strategies as needed.


Cross- Functional Collaboration

  • Work in close collaboration with all key local and international partners and stakeholders to ensure excellence in programming, operations, networking
  • Work in close collaboration with other SFC teams such as finance and marketing, to execute programmes


Requirements:

  • At least 3-8 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience or interest in fashion or business development
  • Strong leadership, analytic and project management skills
  • Strong business management, numeracy and excel skills
  • Team player with initiative, meticulousness, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Communication and cultural sensitivity skills for international liaison
  • Visual and design skills a bonus
