Responsibilities
Manage and oversee day-to-day operations of soft services contracts such as housekeeping (cleaning), landscape, pest control, waste management & events set-up, etc.
Address services related issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring a clean and safe campus environment.
Conduct scheduled joint inspection with service vendors to evaluate monthly performance
Identify defects and shortcomings to keep track of service partners performance to deliver high quality service standards in compliance with the contract requirements and statutory obligations
Assist to implement and review contract requirement specifications, policies, procedures and work instructions as well as participate in quality improvement projects.
Perform administrative tasks such as documentation, filing, raising purchase requests, service report/goods receipt, etc.
Housekeeping / Cleaning and Logistics Services: Monitor and ensure cleaning standards across campus facilities are maintained. Coordinate with service vendor for routine and ad hoc requirements.
Landscape Maintenance: Monitor and ensure horticulture and arboriculture maintenance standards across campus facilities are maintained.
Pest Control: Address pest-related issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring a clean and safe campus environment
Waste Disposal Management: Assist to implement sustainable waste management practices and ensure compliance with environmental guidelines.
Assists in works relating to FMS during emergencies e.g. infectious disease outbreak, major system/facilities breakdown etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Diploma / Degree Environmental Services, Building / Estate / Facilities Management, Services or related field with 3 to 5 years of experience in similar operational role.
Relevant certification in Cleaning, Waste Management, Horticulture or Arboriculture and Pest Control is an advantage.
Familiarity with operations and vendor management.
Ability to communicate well to act as liaison and help reach out to stakeholders, such as faculty and admin staff from other departments and divisions as well as associates and other stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Positive attitude "Hands-on" person, responsible, proactive, takes initiative and able to work independently.
Strong administration, co-ordination, problem solving, interpersonal skills.
Able to work in fast paced environment.
Other Information
Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
