Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy and Plan
Develops and implements the marketing and communications plan to support ExD.
Identifies appropriate channels and develops a channel strategy to promote ExD and ensure we reach target audiences.
Determines actions to successfully execute the marketing plan to determine and agree appropriate resourcing requirements.
Ensures the timely collection and analysis of market research information, and revision of the marketing strategy and plan based on new market information.
Research and Reporting
Manages the compilation and timely distribution of reports on key metrics, as agreed
Works to provide research data and analysis to assist in decision making and day to day operations
Determines research requirements and recommends strategies for ongoing monitoring of market conditions and performance
Monitors competitive activity and positioning and other market conditions which affect demand
Provides information and data to assist in the submission for rankings and any additional external requirements (potential future objective)
Communications
Develops and implements a communications plan for ExD which supports the marketing strategy including PR, advertising, social media, and internal communications
Oversees the writing of copy for marketing materials, advertisements, and other related materials
Works closely with OCCM to advance the PR opportunities for ExD
Manages the production of all marketing communications to support ExDs strategic objectives, which accurately reflect the quality and standards of the business
Financial Management
Manage the marketing, communications and events budget including the allocation of funds and approval for spend.
Provides timely information for forecasting and expense control.
Information Management
Ensures that records in the database and all constituent communications are accurate and up to date.
Actively supports the CRM strategy and practice
Leadership
Works seamlessly and collaboratively as a team member both within the team and across the business.
Works collaboratively and cooperatively with open and honest communication to generate innovative solutions to secure outstanding results for internal stakeholders.
Effectively managing external stakeholders involves identifying, understanding, and engaging with individuals or groups outside the company, like customers, media, and regulators, to build strong relationships and achieve marketing goals.
Fosters high performance.
Actively takes responsibility for own development.
Actively complies with the policies and procedures of SMU.
Always acts as an ambassador for SMU.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Degree level qualifications in Marketing preferred.
Significant experience in developing and executing marketing strategy (corporate environment preferred); experience in business development highly desirable.
Significant experience in the development and implementation of communications strategy.
Experience in managing relationships with senior leaders.
Experience in the development and implementation of marketing plans, addressing the marketing mix and brand strategy.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communication effectively with a range of team members within the business and with external stakeholders.
A strong customer focus and commitment to quality service, with an enthusiasm for working pro-actively.
Highly developed communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaboratively, and flexibly.

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
