Job Scope of a Security Human Resource Officer:

1. Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Job Posting: Developing job descriptions and posting job openings for security personnel (e.g., security officers, guards, and supervisors).
  • Candidate Screening: Reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and assessing candidates for positions in the security department. Ensuring that candidates have the required qualifications, background checks, and certifications.
  • Hiring: Coordinating the hiring process for security staff, ensuring they meet organizational requirements and security standards.

2. Training and Development:

  • Onboarding: Assisting with the onboarding process for new security staff, ensuring they understand policies, procedures, and their roles within the security team.
  • Ongoing Training: Organizing training programs for security personnel, including safety procedures, emergency response, conflict resolution, and new security technologies or systems.
  • Certifications: Ensuring that security staff maintain necessary certifications, such as first aid, CPR, or specific industry-related security credentials.

3. Employee Relations:

  • Conflict Resolution: Addressing any workplace issues or conflicts involving security personnel, acting as a liaison between security staff and management.
  • Employee Support: Offering guidance to security staff on HR-related matters (e.g., benefits, leave, workplace policies).
  • Performance Management: Assisting in the performance evaluation of security staff, helping to address issues related to behavior, attitude, or performance. Ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken when necessary.

4. Compliance and Safety:

  • Security Policy Adherence: Ensuring that security personnel are aware of and follow organizational policies related to safety, security protocols, and legal compliance (e.g., fire safety, emergency procedures, and access control).
  • Legal Compliance: Keeping up with local, regional, or industry-specific regulations regarding security and human resources, ensuring that the security team complies with all necessary laws and standards.

5. Payroll and Benefits:

  • Compensation Management: Coordinating the payroll process for security personnel, ensuring timely and accurate payment of wages, overtime, and bonuses.
  • Benefits Administration: Administering benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Leave Management: Managing time-off requests, sick leave, vacation days, and other leave entitlements for security staff.

6. Scheduling and Staffing:

  • Shift Scheduling: Creating and managing security staff schedules, ensuring proper coverage across all shifts and that security operations run smoothly 24/7.
  • Absence Management: Tracking attendance and ensuring coverage when staff members are absent, whether due to sick leave, vacation, or other reasons.

7. Security Incident Reporting:

  • Incident Documentation: Assisting security staff with proper documentation of incidents, accidents, or security breaches, and ensuring that reports are submitted according to company protocols.
  • Investigations: Coordinating investigations related to security incidents, theft, or misconduct, working with internal or external security teams, as well as legal or law enforcement agencies if needed.

8. Retention and Motivation:

  • Employee Engagement: Fostering a positive work environment for security staff, promoting employee engagement, job satisfaction, and team morale.
  • Recognition and Rewards: Implementing recognition programs to reward top-performing security staff and motivate them to maintain high standards of performance.

9. Health and Well-Being:

  • Physical Fitness: Ensuring security staff are physically capable of performing their duties, and facilitating wellness programs, if applicable.
  • Stress Management: Addressing the mental and emotional well-being of security personnel, given the high-stress nature of the role.

10. Administrative Support:

  • Documentation and Records: Maintaining records for recruitment, training, employee performance, payroll, and other HR-related documents for security staff.
  • Reporting: Assisting management with reports on the security team’s performance, staffing needs, and any issues related to employee performance or morale.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Human Resource Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR practices, including recruitment, training, employee relations, and payroll.
  • Security Management: Understanding of security protocols, safety standards, and the specific requirements of security personnel.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with both security staff and management.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve issues quickly and effectively, whether they relate to employee performance or security concerns.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, such as scheduling, recruitment, and training, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information related to both security incidents and employee records with discretion.
  • Legal and Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with laws and regulations relating to both human resources and security within the industry.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with HR management software, scheduling tools, and security-related systems (such as access control or surveillance systems).

Education and Experience:

  • Education: A diploma in human resources, business administration or a related field is typically preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in security management or human resources is highly valued, particularly in roles related to recruitment, employee relations, or safety management.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $3,000.00 - $3,500.00 per month

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability
