Job Overview
We are seeking a Desktop support engineer to provide technical assistance to our client. The candidate will help install, upgrade and troubleshoot PC hardware and software systems, and handle daily technical support activities on desktop, VDI and Laptop, Microsoft Office support and 1st level support for Email, Voice services, Remote Access and Multimedia systems.
Responsibilities
The candidate will join the Workspace services Desktop team to provide customer support across end user computing technology platform. The roles include addressing user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking. Walk users through installing application and computer peripherals. Conduct remote trouble shooting, customize desktop applications to meet user needs. Direct unsolved issue to the next level of support personnel. Coordinate office restack and IT Equipment relocation related to end user devices. Inventory record keeping, monitoring and coordination and status report for relocation. Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and initiatives. Provide training and guidance to end-users on new technologies and best practices.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5 years of experience in desktop support or a similar IT role
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office
environment.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and basic networking concepts
• Hands-on experience in supporting PC hardware and monitors.
• Proven work experience as a Desk Support Engineer, Technical Support of similar role.
• Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like Printers and
Scanners.
• Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs.
• Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills.
• Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
• Self-motivated and result-driven to be able to deliver independently.
• Strong sense of work ethics and discipline in complying with regulations and policies.
• Strong oral and written communication skill in English is a must.
Preferred Qualification and Working Conditions:
• Experience working in a financial services environment.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Citrix)
• Full-time position, Monday to Friday, with occasional after-hours work as needed
• On-call and weekend support rotation may be required
