Job Summary
TOUCH Young Arrows (TYA) is a non-profit programme led by a committed team of volunteer mentors who conduct weekly Saturday programmes to meet children and youth's social, emotional, and educational needs, and to fulfil their potential. There are 24 TYA clubs in Singapore serving over 500 children and youth aged 5-14 years old from low-income and/ or single-parent families.
As part of the Community Engagement team, you will make TYA an innovative and sustainable model of improving the social mobility of young persons in Singapore. You will oversee programmes for children from disadvantaged families, and manage volunteers & partners, to ensure effective frontline & educational support in each local community.
Responsibilities:
1. Community Engagement
Oversee and ensure quality implementation of programme across TYA clubs.
Onboard and engage new volunteers, and mentor volunteer leaders/ supervisors to achieve regular volunteer support and a safe, conducive learning environment for clients at each club.
Ensure timely support of children and family needs as they arise, directing them to resources or referring them to social workers.
Engage internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Learning & Development, Community & Corporate Partners) to advocate for vulnerable children's needs & aspirations.
Foster long-term relationships to strengthen social capital and facilitate social transformation.
Develop professional practice in community work.
2. Project Management
Oversee ad-hoc / year round special projects or events from ideation to completion, by coordinating people. processes and resources to meet goals on time and within budget.
Establish vision and alignment among volunteer teams and stakeholders to implement well.
3. Communications
Curate social media content.
Curate stories of beneficiaries and volunteers.
4. Other
Support social workers in crises or case follow-up where needed.
Upkeep general administration and coordination, pertaining to database management, claims and outings etc.
Working Conditions
5-day work week: Tue to Sat, 9am to 6pm
Location - Bukit Merah Central / Various location around Singapore
Requirements
Degree holder in any discipline
2-5 years of related work experience
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and a self-starter who contributes indepedently
High integrity and a positive role model to volunteers
Compassion for vulnerable children and families
Carries a professional image, with care to details
Excellent facilitation skills, verbal and written communication skills
