Job Description:
Our Customs Brokerage raters are responsible for managing import/export Customs clearance process following the country’s law, rules and regulations. Their primary responsibility includes providing their expertise in HS tariff classification, duties and tax valuation. They ensure that all shipments can be released on time as per UPS' service guarantee timeline to customers.
Job Responsibilities
Manages Import/Export Customs Clearance Process
Receive or download pre alert files from origin and check any discrepancy
Examine product information to ensure compliance with regulations
Perform classification/rating the shipments according to tariff coding system
Validate Customs duty & tax as required
Submit and receive customs clearance data via online as per UPS accommodated timeline cycle or before shipment arrival or depart
Send duties and taxes payment report to F&A upon Customs approval of the shipments
Provide shipments released report to Warehouse and Operations as per UPS accommodate timeline of delivery process
Prepare physical documentations (when necessary) to Operations to present at Customs Checkpoint for inspection or endorsement by Customs
Other Brokerage Activities
Provide daily report of shipments’ movements within department
Manage daily shipments load
Perform daily on 99% on time released of all shipments by Customs
Track and monitor on hold shipments daily
Communicate with customers (when necessary) for any Customs related matter
Monitor all process and ensure compliance to Customs laws, rules and regulations
Coordinate with various departments and answer all enquires of brokerage matter spontaneously
Manage and assist to resolve Customs queries in a timely manner to meet customers’ expectations and avoid penalties
Monitor Customs circulations and notices of any changes in Customs rules, regulations and process of Customs clearance
Complete required Training courses timely
Maintain knowledge on Customs law and regulatory issues
Job Requirements
Possess a Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain, Customs Brokerage, or any other fields
Possess at least 2-3 years of relevant experience
Able to work independently and as a part of a team
Self-driven individual with attention towards details and accuracy
Display good written and verbal communication skills.
Having the SC401 Customs Competency Test for Declarants certificate will be advantageous
This role is on 5 days' work week. Candidates must be able to do day shift with rotating off days (i.e. NOT permanent weekends off).
