Our Maple Ridge manufacturing client is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their busy team. This exciting company has a stellar reputation for high quality products and serves international markets. Please note this is not a remote or hybrid role.The role reports to the VP Finance and will be responsible for the following:Set up systems and processes for the costing function including allocation of labour and overhead costs for all productsDevelop and maintain production labour rate standardsProactive analysis of labour, material, inventory and purchase price variances.Develop, measure, and report production KPI’sIdentify, develop, and implement, key metrics and tracking system for major cost driversDevelop, measure, and report, on costs of fabrication, paint, and packaging work centres in custom productionDevelop costing for new products and capital expenditure analysis.Investigate opportunities for production grants and incentives.Conduct rotational inventory audit (stock cycle count)Assist in month-end close of the General Ledger as it relates to COGS and Inventory accounting.Participate in the preparation of the annual plant operating budget forecast including standard cost development, budgeted variances, cost center budgeting, headcount requirements, volume analysis, and raw material pricing analysisInvestigate materials hedging.Communication of issues and opportunities to operations management.
