Department Overview

The Evidence Engineering team is responsible for Motorola Solutions’ body cameras, vehicle cameras and evidence management software leveraged in public safety and enterprise applications worldwide. We are looking for a hands-on device embedded software engineering leader to join us as we build, scale and innovatively develop our industry leading platform.


Job Description

In this role, you will manage multiple device-embedded software development teams located across the US, Scotland, Israel, and Malaysia. You will collaborate closely with our product managers, hardware, and software application development teams supporting our Evidence portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, is comfortable working in a high-paced multi-disciplinary environment while collaborating with remote teams across different time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and develops geo-distributed teams, growing teams competencies and performance against company targets.

  • Creates a culture of strong technical ownership to improve the efficiency, scalability, stability, and security of our products and services.

  • Recommends operational plans and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall functional results. Directs execution of functional strategy established by the business leadership team. 

  • Identifies and executes moderate to significant improvements in processes and tools to enhance performance and drive to a common standard for the organization

  • Influences others to accept practices and approaches. Adept at partnering closely with, and acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the firm in order to influence strategic priorities. 

  • Drive recruiting efforts and growth/ budget planning

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field

  • 12 years of relevant experience

  • Familiar with building and maintaining code, understanding the need to work with HW, suppliers, and other product stakeholders in the organization.

  • Proven experience in ownership of designing, development, coding, testing, research, programming and scaling solutions

  • Experience building continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines

  • Ability to travel internationally (20% or less) and ability to work flexible hours to accommodate US, EU, and APAC time-zones.

Basic Requirements

Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field

12 years of relevant experience

Familiar with building and maintaining code, understanding the need to work with HW, suppliers, and other product stakeholders in the organization.

Proven experience in ownership of designing, development, coding, testing, research, programming and scaling solutions

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
