This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, OR. In-office expectation is 3 days a week. ABOUT THE POSITION The eCommerce Copywriter II works closely with the team to deliver marketing storytelling and a compelling site and email experience for Columbia Sportswear Company. They will also help implement digital initiatives including personalization, down-funnel brand campaigns, site promotions, email, SMS, SEO, loyalty, social, and shared multichannel projects. The eCommerce Copywriter II will also research products to craft accurate branded copy that promotes product features, benefits, and technologies while developing workflow tools and channel-right messaging to increase engagement, conversion, and customer satisfaction. HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE Writes conversational and concise marketing copy with an understanding of brand voice, down-funnel priorities, promotions, email, loyalty, SMS, UX, PDP, AP Style, and SEO principles. Presents creative concepts and incorporates feedback. Crafts accurate, engaging, and personalized product storytelling that promotes product features, benefits, and technologies. Audits and edits content, writes ADA alt text, and performs routine (QC) quality checks. Develops and maintains style guides to align with best practices and brand standards. Researches products and technologies, incorporates industry trends and user testing. YOU ARE Able to develop creative ideas that work across channels. Aware and knowledgeable of social media trends. Experienced at creating digital content. An excellent communicator with skills to establish positive working relationships across various levels and fields of expertise. YOU HAVE Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification, or equivalent experience. 2-4 years of professional experience in a Copywriting function. Product or Agency experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Experience creating digital, print, video content. Basic understanding of site systems, Emarsys email, and HTML Understanding of SEO, UX, ADA alt text Eagerness to adopt new applications, AI tools, and working methods. Ability to distill complex ideas into simple, clear and resonant expressions. Ability to problem-solve, working through the corporate matrix.
