Job Description Summary Manage the day-to-day functions within the food safety and quality department. Implement relevant QA processes and procedures, manage the daily activities related to such processes and procedures and in the supervision of professional employees reporting to the position. The position will, as necessary, lead cross functional teams to ensure effective implementation of QA initiatives and processes. The position owns the definition of technical objectives related to assigned responsibilities. Job Description Develops and manages processes and procedures within assigned technical area(s) of responsibility Oversees day to day activities and manages staff within assigned areas of responsibility Develops metrics to measure effectiveness/progress in areas of assigned responsibility Reviews and summarizes data to understand trends and issues and to make decisions related to product safety and quality in areas of assigned responsibility Ensures the accurate reporting of all relevant department data and activities Performs assigned technical tasks/duties associated with department processes and procedures Provides support and decision making in managing situations and issues relative to quality and/or food safety as necessary Interfaces with and provides technical support and decision making to appropriate functions and employees to assure regulatory compliance, food safety and quality of ConAgra Foods products Guides others in the organization on matters of a technical nature Evaluates effectiveness and assures continuous improvement in assigned areas of responsibility Ensures that direct reports are adequately trained to do their jobs Coaches and counsels direct reports in their performance and professional development Basic & Preferred Qualifications Minimum B.S. in Food, Biological or Chemical Science or related field or equivalent years of experience and training. Minimum 10 years of food industry experience in QA, Operations or equivalent function Knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies or other relevant area of responsibility Familiarity in using a full range of continuous improvement tools and fundamentals Relevant experience with government regulatory requirements in food processing Excellent report writing, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) Demonstrated strength in setting example for others Expertise in design & execution of Quality/technical work Industry-Competitive Benefits Coupled with our compensation and bonus incentive programs, our benefits deliver rewards that are market competitive.
