Job Summary
Responsible for performing preventive maintenance on automated assembly equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and established safety practices to ensure proper functioning of equipment and production processes.
Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating moving parts, adjusting tension, cleaning surfaces, etc.

  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.

  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions by analyzing symptoms and utilizing technical knowledge to determine solutions.

  • Execute repairs on damaged or broken components according to blueprints, schematics, and service manuals.

  • Assist in planning and implementing maintenance schedules based on production requirements and machine capabilities.

  • Document all maintenance activities including repairs, modifications, and upgrades made to equipment.

  • Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, quality assurance, purchasing, and production to resolve complex issues related to equipment performance.

  • Train operators on safe operation of equipment and promote awareness of good manufacturing practices (GMP).

  • Ensure compliance with GMP guidelines during all aspects of maintenance work performed.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving process efficiency and reducing downtime.

Qualifications
Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Technology preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in medical device industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient understanding of mechanical systems, principles, and applications.

  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electricity, electronics, robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLC), vision systems, servo motors, and related technologies.

  • Experienced using hand tools, power tools, wrenches, drills, saws, presses, torches, cutting tools, forming tools, and assembly tools.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to read drawings, schematics, specifications, instructions, and procedures.

  • Physically able to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, reaching, climbing, standing/walking for extended periods of time.

  • Able to work in confined spaces wearing protective gear such as gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator masks, beard cover, hair cover, shoe covers, etc.

  • Willingness to learn new techniques and participate in training programs.

Travel Requirements:

  • No travel required.
