The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides psychiatric consultation to the program staff and administrators as well as provides psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and relevant treatment planning to program clients in a residential setting. This position is an integral part of the clinical leadership of a multidisciplinary team that provides client centered, culturally competent care with the highest standard for quality possible.

Minimum Qualifications:

Psychiatric NP, licensed to practice in California

Prefer experience with MAT, Substance abuse, and Adolescents

Active DEA License

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Perform psychiatric assessment/diagnostic evaluations, and implements client centered treatment plans.

Prescribe, dispense and monitor psychotropic medications, taking into consideration FDA indications and warnings: documenting informed consent process and clinical justification for polypharmacy; monitoring for compliance, effectiveness, safety, and side effects; and providing basic health monitoring and referral, with coordination of care when indicated.

Maintains appropriate confidential documentation, compliance, and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures, and all local, state, and federal laws.

Maintain productivity standards and units of service per program contract requirements.

Actively participates in medical staff and program staff meetings.

Provides cross coverage for other prescribers; basic medical and psychiatric consultation; supervision of other medical and nursing staff and students, as needed.

Responds to psychiatric and medical emergencies.

Position Details:

· Available 40 hours per week, primarily on-site (3 days per week preferred)

· Nationally accredited treatment center (28 bed facility)

· Some telehealth allowed. Prefer onsite 3 days per week
