Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team - a small and growing business in the professional services space. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, possess excellent technical accounting skills, and have a proven track record in operationalizing finance functions.

Responsibilities:

- Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger

- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets

- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards

- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets

- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making

- Collaborate with the rest of the team to develop and monitor project budgets

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and other regulatory requirements

- Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting regulations and best practices

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a mid-sized organization

- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices

- Proficiency in technical accounting areas such as SOX compliance, double entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet reconciliation

- Experience with accounting software systems; knowledge of QuickBooks Online is a preferred

- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: $107,658.00 - $114,470.00 per year
