Business Devlopment Support Specialist - Kiln Creek OfficeYorktown, Virginia1st Advantage Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a full-time Business Development Support Specialist to support our Marketing department in our corporate office of Yorktown, Virginia. The scheduled hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position will be on-site.
This position is responsible for supporting the Business Development team through oversight of physical documentation, record keeping, member assistance, branch referrals, administrative tasks, as well as supporting sales efforts.

  • Create and process new account and loan applications by collecting and preparing loan and deposit account documentation. Make recommendations when appropriate for additional products.
  • Maintain oversight of the Bank at Work program, reviewing and assigning branch referrals to a salesperson in a timely manner, being a point of contact for branch colleagues on the business development team.
  • Speak with members or prospective members on applications/request to obtain needed information and/or provide updates.
  • Monitor applications and account information in DNA and Meridian to create and maintain data specific reports as needed/requested.
  • Assist in the planning and organizing events, meetings, seminars, and promotional activities to enhance visibility and brand awareness.
  • Support market research initiatives by gathering data on competitor offerings and consumer trends.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
  • Verify all applications have correct information and are uploaded into DNA and Meridian.
  • Manage list of business development applications and bank at work referrals ensuring communication with the member and referral partner is handled in a timely manner.
  • Review and address new branch referrals within 48 hours of receipt and respond to communication on existing ones in a timely manner.
  • Open deposit accounts accurately with all supporting documentation.
  • Organize and assimilate all documents necessary to expedite the closing of loan applications sourced form business development team.
  • Prepare files for the sales team within 1 business day following the receipt of all required documents.
  • Maintains open communication with members (business members and individual members), ensuring communications are accurate, timely and professional.
  • Ensure that Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained and conveyed when interacting with internal or external contracts.
Qualifications:Experience Two to five years of experience with documentations management, data report evaluation and account servicing. Customer Service experience is required. Prior lending experience is preferred.
Education (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills Experience in managing customer relationships and excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented and able to work independently as well as with a team. Strong analytical skills. Intermediate level knowledge with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Familiar with financial statements and tax returns preferred. Familiar with NCUA Regulations (or banking regulations) and responsibilities relating to each including a working knowledge of UCC titles, mortgages, liens and other aspects of the loan collateral position preferred. Notary preferred.
Physical RequirementsTalking - Especially where one must frequently convey details or important instructions, ideas, etc. accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Average Hearing - Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Finger Dexterity - Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects or pinching fingers together.
Repetitive Motion - Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Average Visual Abilities - Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products or operate machinery.
Physical Strength - Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs).
Work Environment Standard office environment.
