The Production Scheduler is responsible for maintaining all manufacturing scheduling data based on priorities and strategies set by the Senior Production Scheduler and the Production Manager. This role requires updating and adjusting the schedule based on due dates, capacities, expedites, and late deliveries. The Production Scheduler will assist in routing work through the shop and maintain balanced workflow through all cells, ensuring schedules are current and up-to-date.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Scheduling:

· Create and schedule work orders through the cell structure in the manufacturing facility dedicated to stainless steel equipment fabrication.

· Set the material cost for components on all in-house work orders using the Material Cost Calculator.

· Coordinate with the Production Manager and Senior Production Scheduler regarding timelines for drawing release and completion.

· Collaborate with Nesting on job nesting to optimize sheet metal usage while limiting current jobs on the floor.

· Determine the appropriate laser for job cuts in coordination with Nesting and the Cutting & Forming Supervisor based on workload and efficiency.

· Assist in scheduling project movement through subsequent cells, ensuring each cell maintains the correct timeline.

· Maintain deadlines while decoupling workflow from strict deadline adherence.

· Work closely with the Production Manager and Senior Production Scheduler to develop and execute production plans, address arising issues, and improve production performance.

· Adjust schedules based on due dates, capacity, expedites, and late deliveries.

· Plan expedited work as needed to meet customers’ critical needs while satisfying other customers.

· Regularly check in with each weld cell to understand product timelines.

· Adapt to changing targets and plan completion/shipping dates appropriately.

· Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Production Scheduler.

Counterpart:

· Understand each phase of the fabrication process to reduce bottlenecks while maintaining healthy backlogs per work cell using ERP/MRP Software.

· Update and modify schedules to generate daily production schedules.

· Ensure all work orders are correctly routed and know the status of specific parts within their processes.

· Confirm all work orders are completed in each work cell before jobs progress and that everything is completed in Counterpart before shipping.

· Reroute work orders to the correct work cell if a different work cell takes on the project.

· Reorder replenishments to use inventory items effectively, reducing the critical path of a job.

· Prioritize inventory items when processing Order Requests in Counterpart to reduce job critical paths.

Coordinating:

· Create jobs in Counterpart based on Design Requests from Sales Engineers and Account Managers.

· Determine appropriate finish dates for Contracting Jobs to allow time for problem resolution.

· Maintain constant communication with Account Managers regarding job and project timelines.

· Contact Account Managers for job clarifications.

· Communicate with Designers/Engineers about drawing/print issues.

· Discuss components or weldments for inventory with Account Managers and the Production Manager, establishing minimum and maximum inventory levels.

· Identify bottlenecks with the Production Manager and develop solutions.

· Coordinate with the Warehouse Supervisor regarding truck scheduling for job pickups.
