Title:  Loan Officer

Location:  Sioux Falls, SD (This is an on-site position)

 

Builder Finance Inc. (BFI) is the growing lender to home building companies and rental home investment companies across the country.   A successful Loan Officer:

  • Excels at sales. New sales originate substantially through inbound channels, tradeshows, and referrals. Cold calling is not expected.
  • Provides best-in-class customer service. Quickly address stated and unstated needs of clients (and prospective) clients. Stellar client experiences are a must.
  • Understands real estate underwriting. This can be learned on the job but preference is given to candidates with existing real estate and/or credit expertise.

The work environment is supportive; support resources will be provided so that the Loan Officer can focus on sales and credit. BFI wants the Loan Officer to succeed. Success is:

  • Originating loans that repay.
  • Developing long-term client relationships.
  • Building the brand by giving everyone that interacts with BFI a positive impression.  

The Loan Officer will take ownership of his/her clients and accept responsibility for mistakes and problems. BFI is a direct lender and retains at least partial risk for all originations from closing to payoff. In addition to sales talent, credit skills and good judgement are essential traits.

Compensation is attractive and likely to include: a significant base salary, a semi-annual formulaic bonus based on company performance (available after the first full year of employment), and bonus consideration based on individual performance.

Qualifications:

Experience: 2 years of sales experience in any field. Experience in real estate and/or credit a plus.

Education: Alongside schooling, include GPA(s) on resume submission. Include any standardized test score that you feel is relevant.

  • Rigorous approach to credit including attention to, and respect of, details, rules, and governing processes
  • Familiar with Excel, Word and Outlook
