SUMMARY : We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shipping and Receiving Lead to oversee our shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will manage the day-to-day activities of the shipping and receiving department, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the shipping and receiving department.
• Ensure accurate and timely receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming shipments.
• Oversee the preparation and shipment of outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
• Coordinate with other departments, including production, customer service, and purchasing, to resolve any shipping or receiving issues.
• Train and mentor team members on shipping and receiving procedures, safety protocols, and best practices.
• Monitor and manage the performance of team members, providing feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Operate and maintain shipping and receiving equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Manage the scheduling and coordination of transportation carriers and logistics providers.
• Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving records and reports.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in shipping and receiving operations.

REQUIREMENTS :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in shipping and receiving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
• Proficiency with shipping and receiving software and ERP systems.
• Certification in forklift operation is preferred.
