SUMMARY: Coordinates maintenance of PACS, with QC included. Monitors and resolves issues with patient information, backup programs and daily error logs. Monitors and enforces compliance of departmental policies and procedures. Department liaison with IT/IS for interface and upgrades of computerized connectivity.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: PACS administrator experience with either Fuji Synapse or GE. General Systems Administrator experience is a plus. Detailed organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Preferred completion of formal computer science courses with certification.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: Associate's degree from an accredited College or University in related field or equivalent experience required. Must have valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation. Job requires travel between facilities on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. Note: (other duties may be assigned, deleted or changed at any time, at the discretion of management, formally, or informally, either verbally or in writing).
1. Responsible for overseeing the daily clean-up and resolving issues of PACS data base.
2. Responsible of overseeing daily operation of Vidar (film scanning), PACS Cube (CD image burner) and document scanning.
3. Serve as primary point of contact between Information Services, Imaging and GE (PACS Vendor). Serve as primary troubleshooter for PACS equipment.
4. Serves as liaison between departments, IT, and physicians and vendors for implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting and interface of PACS and other imaging system's hardware and software.
5. Understand facility HIS/RIS to be able to monitor and optimize with PACS. Troubleshoot and act as liaison for PACS and IT/IS department. Reviews system error logs and initiates corrective action.
6. Ensure equipment is functioning properly; notify supervisor of any potential malfunctions. Practice a proactive approach to maintenance of equipment.
7. Communicate and set expectations for computer usage with the Imaging staff and Clinician's. Create ongoing strategic plans to encompass growth, additional modalities, PACS workstations and emerging technologies.
8. Work in cooperation with Vendors & Imaging Leadership to develop a budget for future PACS initiatives and expansion.
9. Work to create and maintain remote access to PACS and Referring Clinicians.
10. Adhere to the prescribed standards for Radiation Safety and Title 17.
11. Assists in the development and enforcement of Policies and Procedures for PACS.
12. Compiles statistical reports and information regarding PACS and the users.
13. Document and analyze user feedback for system modifications and improvements. Continue to interact and build relationships with staff and physicians.
14. Serve as Project Lead for future PACS initiatives, initiatives, expansions and implementations.
15. Occasionally serve as backup for Systems Administrator, Desktop Support, or Help Desk
16. Other Duties as Assigned
