Job Summary The Data Officer SSBI plays a critical role in ensuring that our organization adheres to the principles and guidelines outlined in the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) Standard 239. This role is responsible for overseeing and implementing data governance practices, data quality controls, and reporting frameworks to ensure that the organization's data management practices comply with BCBS 239 standards. Key Responsibilities BCBS 239 Compliance: Ensure the organization's data management practices align with BCBS 239 principles and guidelines. Data Governance: Develop and maintain a robust data governance framework, including data policies, procedures, and standards to meet BCBS 239 requirements. Data Quality Management: Implement data quality controls and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in accordance with BCBS 239 standards. Documentation: Maintain documentation of all BCBS 239 compliance efforts, including policies, procedures, and audit trails. Strategy and change the bank activities: In close collaboration with the enterprise data strategy and SSBI business strategy define and implement the data strategy, data architecture and oversees data programs and requirement management relevant to achieve the objects and key results defined in the strategy. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including the enterprise CD office, enterprise IT, data security and data protection, risk management, and business units, to ensure adherence to strategy and regulatory obligations. Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs to ensure that employees understand the importance of BCBS 239 compliance and their role in it. Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the point of contact for regulatory authorities and auditors regarding BCBS 239 compliance matters. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Finance, Data Management, Risk Management). Knowledge of regulatory requirements and reporting frameworks relevant to BCBS 239. Strong understanding of BCBS 239 principles and data governance best practices. Proven experience in data governance, data management, or compliance roles within the financial industry. Proven track record in successfully and timely executing regulatory requirements in a complex international organization Demonstrable experience in outsourcing activities with internal and external service providers in a regulated environment Demonstrable experience in formulating strategy and risks, gaining buy-in at Executive and Board levels and mobilizing resources to implement change. Excellent communication skills, with strong influencing skills and an ability to effectively communicate technical issues in plain language. A pragmatic, problem solving mind-set with an ability to tackle difficult issues related to both operations and projects and guide all parties to an outcome in the best interest and risk appetite of the organization.
