The 21st Century Cyber Charter School welcomes applications from qualified/certified, and experienced Math teachers, skilled in curriculum writing and learner experience design, to join our collaborative team of education professionals. The ideal candidate will be student-focused, passionate about student success, and have proven experience writing engaging Math curriculum to established PA standards and an understanding of current trends in Math.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Math Instructional Content Developer will collaborate with teachers in the Middle School and High School Math Department to create curriculum aligned to PA Core Standards. Developers will also revise, edit and improve service delivery through existing learning management technologies. Through active collaboration with the ISD Team, the Developer will plan, troubleshoot, implement and evaluate the program of instruction; implement an on-going review of learning management system content to assure consistency, accuracy and functionality across the learning platform(s).

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Serve as a content area expert in assigned subject(s) and stay abreast of the latest educational trends within assigned content area(s).
  2. Partner with teachers to assist in the creation and evaluation of classes to maximize student engagement and learning.
  3. Ensure courses are aligned with PA state and national standards.
  4. Create and maintain pathways within existing courses to assist teachers with differentiation of instruction to meet the needs of varied learning abilities.
  5. Create and maintain appropriate credit recovery courses.
  6. Within the existing learning management technologies, revise/edit interactive learning to include course objectives, activities, collaborative learning environments, graphic art/media, and valid/reliable assessments to meet course objectives.
  7. Maintain/update curriculum housed in 21CCCS learning management applications, and technology platforms.
  8. Support alternative approaches to learning delivery, which could include blended learning solutions and/or other learning technologies.
  9. Work with the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) Coordinator to create style guidelines for sub-projects, ensuring that they are executed and maintained in a consistent manner throughout the development process.
  10. Support organizational instructional/educational technology goals and initiatives.
  11. Perform any other duties/projects as assigned by the Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment.
  12. Bargaining unit members may be required to be onsite for 10 State Testing Days, 5 August Professional Development Days at either West Chester or Murrysville location, and attend one graduation ceremony.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:
  1. In depth knowledge of assigned content area and content areas within PA standards.
  2. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of varied learning abilities.
  3. In-depth experience with online educational learning management technologies utilized by the School
  4. Ability to competently use computers, computer software technologies utilized by the School in the execution of essential job responsibilities
  5. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with an in-depth understanding of the editorial process.
  6. Excellent organizational and project-management skills.
  7. Detail oriented, with an ability to effectively prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines.
  8. Demonstrated ability to function independently and collaboratively, at all levels of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
  1. Bachelor's Degree in related instructional content area. Masters Degree in education desirable.
  2. Minimum 1-3 years teaching experience in the required content area.
  3. Prior Web design and/or HTML experience is desirable.
  4. Prior Instructional Systems Design development experience is desirable.
Professional or Other Required Certifications
  1. Valid level II PA teaching certification in the content area desired for the position.
  2. Additional PA teaching certification in other content areas is desirable.
  3. Clearances valid within 12 months of date of hire - Act 34, 151, 114
