At the present time, a vacancy exists in the Education Department for a
Part Time Teaching Assistant.
LOCATION: This is a remote work assignment subject to the terms and conditions of a Teleworking Agreement.
SUMMARY OF POSITION: The part time (PT) Teaching Assistant assists educators in the educational process including communicating with students and their families to ensure that students are successful in the online environment. The primary purpose of the part time Teaching assistant is to support and assist students in the virtual office and live class, but works collaboratively with teachers and other departments, as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Student Tracking & Communication a. Assists teachers with;
1. Encouraging student participation and organization
2. Communicating student progress with students and parents
3. Student and parent communications
b. Assist students in finding answers using best available resources.
c. Assist students and families through the orientation process, as needed.
d. Work within our curriculum delivery system to help identify and track student participation.
e. Review documents for authenticity and completeness.
f. Handle telephone calls promptly and with courtesy.
g. Confer regularly with staff to plan and coordinate activities.
h. Explain, interpret, and enforce a wide range of academic policies and regulations related to public schools.

Data Integrity a. Document phone communication accurately to reflect conversations.
b. Work with other owners of data to ensure complete records.
c. Assist in the collection for our data based decision-making process.

Administrative Duties a. Follow up on attendance issues including but not limited to letters, calls, and database tracking.
b. Perform other tasks or projects as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively and efficiently with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Effective use of the student information system (SIS) in the execution of assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to use independent judgment to manage confidential information.
- Knowledge of the rules, regulations, and laws regarding student records.
- Ability to foster and support a cooperative work environment.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and related software applications in the execution of assigned job responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain established recordkeeping systems and procedures.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
QUALIFICATIONS: A. Education and Experience
1. High school diploma required, Associates or Bachelor's degree desirable
2. Experience working with applications in a Macintosh environment such as MS Office, FileMaker, Google Apps preferred
3. Some experience in a K-12 school desirable
B. Professional or Other Required Certifications
1. Valid PA Teaching Certification desirable (Core content areas - English, Math, Science, Social Studies)
2. Act 34 and 151 Clearances and Federal Criminal History Information (CHRI), valid within the year at time of hire.
3. Reliable home internet access to facilitate the execution of job duties and responsibilities while teleworking (internet services are not reimbursable by the School).

10Month/ 195 Day
Monday-Friday
5.5 Hours/Day
Telework - Yes, subject to the terms and conditions of a Teleworking Agreement.
Salary: $20.30 - $20.79 per hour
