Electrical Engineer II — (14252274)

What are the main functions of this role?:

  • The Electrical Engineer II will engage in a broad range of electrical engineering research, development, and support as a member of a diverse, cross-functional team. They will expand their skillset as they gain experience developing next generation satellite electronics as part of our world class electrical engineering team!

Required Skill Sets:

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering
  • 4 years of hardware design experience. Advanced academic degrees, internship or research experience may count toward the required experience
  • Familiarity with at least one schematic capture/layout tool and at least one spice-based simulation tool.
  • Expertise in one or more technical areas: power electronics/power conversion, analog design, sensors design and interface, electromechanical systems, digital design, FPGA design, automated test development, EMI/EMC, PCB design/manufacture, or other relevant area.
  • Experience designing for harsh or mission critical environments including one of aerospace, automotive, aviation, medical, or naval.
  • Experience designing to industry standards (such as EMI/EMC).

Desired Skill Sets:

  • Design electronics (schematic capture & PCB design) for complex space grade products
  • Use a variety of tools to analyze and simulate electrical designs, selecting the best tool for the job as required.
  • Some of the common tools we use are Altium Design, LTSpice, Siemens HyperLynx

FPGA Digital Design Engineer II — (14251913)

What are the main functions of this role?:

  • This role will be a technical contributor with the focus on digital design of complex Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) designs used in space applications. This exciting position will be focused on FPGA design tasks, but may include FPGA verification tasks, depending on candidate’s interest and experience.

Required Skill Sets:

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering and 4 years detailed electronics design experience with at least 4 years of FPGA design experience (verification experience is a plus)
  • Experience with design trades, design concept discussions, system specifications, system analyses and failure reporting.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, strong presentation skills and the ability to contribute to technical group discussions and conversations with customers and team members
  • Engineers who are interested in working on a small team of enthusiastic technical experts are encouraged to apply. This opportunity includes close mentorship with a technical expert
  • Familiarity with clock domain crossing (CDC) tools and FPGA design pitfalls is nice to have.
  • Familiar with AXI based design, DMA, and scripting tools.
  • Experience with interpreting schematics, using schematic capture tools, and digital board design is a plus.
  • Experience with embedded processor-based electronics architecture.

  • Design and verify margin, compliance, and fault robustness of high-speed serial interfaces such as 10 Mb /100Mb/1Gb Ethernet, SpaceWire and LVDS interfaces using simulation methods such as UVM, OVM, or a functional test bench (module and system level)
  • Design robust Finite State Machines (FSMs) and interface logic
  • Generate FPGA test vectors and simulation test benches, executing them in a verification environment such as ModelSim or QuestaSim

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering and 7 years detailed electronics design experience with at least 5 years of FPGA design experience (verification experience is a plus)
  • Experience with design trades, design concept discussions, system specifications, system analyses and failure reporting.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, strong presentation skills and the ability to contribute to technical group discussions and conversations with customers and team members
  • Engineers who are interested in working on a small team of enthusiastic technical experts are encouraged to apply. This opportunity includes close mentorship with a technical expert

Sr. Electrical Engineer — (14251917)

What are the main functions of this role?

  • The Electrical Engineer Senior will engage in a broad range of electrical engineering activities as a member of a diverse, technical team working to design the next generation of satellite technologies & components.

Required Skill Sets:

  • BS degree, or higher in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering
  • 7 years of electrical engineering design experience with a BSEE, 5 years of experience (with an MSEE) or
  • Strong ability to communicate with other team members, engineering leaders, and internal/external customers through written and verbal means.
  • Experience using Altium Design (or equivalent) for schematic capture or PCB layout
  • Experience designing to industry standards (such as EMI/EMC) MIL-STD-461 or NASA GEVS GSFC-STD-7000

Desired Skill Sets:

  • Design circuit card assemblies (perform schematic capture & circuit analysis PCB layout design or design) for complex space grade electronics products
  • Use a variety of EDA tools to analyze and simulate electronics designs. Some of the common tools we use are Altium Designer, LTSpice, Siemens HyperLynx SI/PI

Sr. Electrical Test Engineer — (14251918)

What are the main functions of this role?

  • The Sr. Electrical Systems Engineer will engage in a broad range of engineering activities as a member of a diverse team working to design the next generation of small satellites.

Required Skill Sets:

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or similar
  • 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience from board to sub-system and system level
  • Strong ability to communicate with other engineers, management, and external customers over both written and verbal communication channels is a must.
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstratable knowledge of electrical engineering and system level design.
  • Familiarity with at least one schematic capture/layout tool and at least one spice- based simulation tool.
  • Experience using MATLAB, Python, or other scripting language for scientific
  • Experience designing for harsh or mission critical environments a plus – including but not limited to aerospace, automotive, aviation, medical, or naval.
